What this site collects, and what it does not.
Last updated
This page describes what DStillPoint collects and why. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What is collected
When you read an article. A view is counted once per reader per article, using a short-lived identifier stored in your session. No profile is built, and the identifier is not linked to anything else.
When you subscribe. Your email address, and your name if you supply one. Both are used solely to send you an email when a new article is published. Every one of those emails carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
When you register or comment. Your name, email address and whatever you choose to add to your profile. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
When you use the contact form. Your name, email address and message, so a reply can be written.
Analytics
If site analytics are enabled, the configuration is visible in the page source and honours your browser's Do Not Track setting. It can be turned off entirely by the site owner and, when off, no analytics script is loaded at all.
What is not done
Your email address is never sold, rented or shared with a third party. There is no advertising network on this site. Comments are not scanned for advertising purposes.
Removing your data
Ask, and it is removed. Subscriptions can be ended from the link in any email; accounts and comments can be deleted on request through the contact form.
